Nursery canopy and climbing

This brand new nursery set in the centre of Maidenhead expands the Learn Well Nurseries group of nurseries and is their first one outside of London, and with a garden. The garden was a car park when we first visited site in April 2022 so there was some work to do to make it child friendly! Owners Adam and Amy were excited about having an outdoor space to plan for the first time and we were asked to design all of the equipment (surfacing was done by others). The requirements were a climbing structure that would be manageable for the younger cohort and also offer some fun and challenge for the pre schoolers. We loved the design which features a large raised platform with branch canopy and several ways to access it. A messy play space was included with the addition of a mud kitchen area featuring a table and seating – always very popular! To offer shelter and shade we installed a beautiful colourful canopy which casts striking patterns on the ground, such a wonderful sensory feature.
